New Store Opening
Lakeside Shopping Centre Joondalup
General Pants Co. Editing global trends for young blooded individuals.
Recently I was kindly invited to check out the new General Pants store at Lakeside Shopping centre Joondalup. Since it’s humble beginnings as a speciality denim store in Sydney over 30 years ago, General Pants have made it their mission to be anchored in denim and is today recognised as a destination denim shop and cutting edge purveyor of youth fashion and style internationally.
General Pants Co. is one of the largest and respected youth retailers in Australia with 47 retail stores and an e-commerce site that ships globally. The new store at the newly refurbished Lakeside Joondalup is GP’s forth store to open in WA.
General Pants Co. store is an effervescent place, packed with new and exclusive brands, targeted at young women and men that are rebellious, fashion conscious, trend driven but want to dress with serious edge.
The store boasts a destination denim shop comprised of a denim wall offering a wide variety of brands including Ksubi, Wrangler and Levi. The General Pants team search the globe to bring together a tightly curated collection of product that can only be found at General Pants Co. They also collaborate with some of the most influential minds in fashion to create collections exclusively for GP customers including mega babe Bambi Northwood-Blyth married to designer at cult brand Ksubi.
The store is well merchandised to showcase the latest trends andI found it very easy to shop creating a truly unique shopping experience. The GP team works with some of the world’s most iconic brands to bring together exclusive fashion ranges, capsule collections and style including, Insight, Stussy, Don’t Ask Amanda, One Teaspoon and many more. This year GP have introduced even more new exciting brands and exclusive categories to GP’s ever growing portfolio.
The staff are bursting with energy and enthusiasm and happy to help you find that perfect cut of jean and talk you through this season’s exciting ranges and the inspiration behind them.
As this season dressing down is the new dressing up for A/W’ 15 at GP. The GP seasons trends combine tomboy styling and functional comfort to create everyday appeal. With a nod to all things retro, there’s a strong 90’s undertone which is anchored around vintage denim washes.
A/W ’15 at GP also sees the return of a 70’s and 80’s flavour with a soft rock vibe that brings a tough feminine style to the mix. While 90’s Utility explores punk detailing and attitude this winter incorporating khaki utility jackets styled with dark Hawaiian prints. And my personal favourite, Soft Rock, where the rocker meets boho.
