Turn Off Notifications

Turn off all those distracting pop-up notifications on your phone. I have recently switched off banner notifications on all my social media channels such as Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat and it has without wanting to sound overly dramatic, changed my life. I didn’t realise how many times a day I was checking my phone because so and so tagged me in a post. I have gained so much time back in my day and it has really helped me focus on tasks rather than intermediately grabbing my attention.

Work in 30 Minute Time Slots

My sister Sandi suggested a great app called 30/30. Briefly, this app allows you to create a customisable task list and sets a countdown time. By working uninterrupted in 30-minute time slots you have more focus. I find this app so handy, I create my task list 30 minutes e-mails, 30 minutes blog research and I solely focus on that task. As I get distracted quickly I love how much more productive I have become.

Close Down Web Browser Tabs and Disable Pop Up’s

I try and close down any open browser tabs such a Facebook as it’s too easy to just click and get distracted from the task at hand and next thing it’s 3 am and you have watched 20 YouTube clips of laughing goats and you still haven’t gotten through your college assignment.
